Founding Associate

Founding Associates are the first 100 foilers bringing S-MF FLOW into the first production run. By contributing $200 for prototype development, join the FLOW Launch Group, receive direct project updates, and get preferential consideration for testing and validation as development advances.

Apply for Sales Agent

Founding Associates receive preferential consideration when applying for future Optimo Foils Sales Agent opportunities. Selected Sales Agents will represent the brand, help riders achieve their desired foiling experience, and earn commissions on sales

THE 100 FUNDERS

Most foilers first meet a new foil when it is already on the market. The key decisions, prototypes, testing, and hard choices behind it remain invisible. The Direct Hangar Project Launch Campaign gives 100 Founding Associates the opportunity to experience that process as it happens within the exclusive and confidential FLOW Launch Group.

You are not only contributing to the development and production of the first S-MF FLOW foils, but you are also helping materialize an experience-driven approach to foil design. You will see the milestones, learn what the testing reveals, and follow FLOW as it moves from engineering into the hands of riders.

FLOW’s intended experience has not yet been proven by foiling on the water. Confidence must be earned through prototyping, testing, design refinement, manufacturing, and candid communication. Founding Associates will receive direct progress updates and a clear view of the decisions as the project advances.

Every Associate receives first-production allocation, project access, and connection with the other Founding Associates. Those who want to participate more actively may request preferential consideration for testing, demonstrations, expert evaluation, or the future Sales Agent program. These roles will be selective and depend on experience, location, project needs, and available prototypes.

The first 100 will not simply receive the first foils. They will be the group whose contributions and commitment made the first production run possible.

Questions & Answers

1. What is the "Direct Hangar" or "Direct To Foiler" funding campaign?

It is an innovative, direct, targeted, and controlled rewards-plus-benefits-based funding campaign combining prototype development and validation, production, tangible and intangible Founding Associate benefits, and product rewards. It is substantially different than a public platform-based crowdfunding campaign, and it implements the unique Optimo Foils funding model for the first time.

2. Where can I review the Terms & Conditions?

You can review the complete Terms & Conditions here or through the permanent link at the bottom of the page.

3. What exactly is the $200 Initial Contribution for?

The $200 Initial Contribution makes you a Founding Associate, funds the prototype development and validation phase, and qualifies you to fund the following phases toward receiving an S-MF FLOW Foil reward.

4. Is there any requirement to join and pay the $200 Initial Contribution?

Yes, information shared by Optimo Foils must be protected and remain confidential. To join the FLOW Launch Group, Foiling Associates must sign an NDA.

5. How will I make the Production Contributions?

After prototype validation, we'll provide continuing Founding Associates with one private Shopify link for the $1,450 Production Phase payment plan. We'll collect it in two installments: $800 first and $650 two months later.

6. What happens if the campaign does not reach 100 contributions?

If the campaign does not reach 100 Initial Contributions within 30 days, we'll consider a 30-day extension. If the goal is not met, we'll cancel the launch, refund all contributions, and reformulate the project launch.

For the production phase, if we don't secure funding from the 100 Founding Associates before launch, we'll add a 30-day funding campaign for replacement funders. They will contribute the full $1,650 and won't benefit from participation in the prototype phase. Continuing Founding Associates will contribute $1,450 as agreed, through a private link for the remaining contributions.

If the additional campaign fails to bring the total number of production funders to 100, we'll cancel the production launch, refund all production-phase contributions, and reformulate the production launch.

7. Can I make more than one contribution?

Yes. You can make as many contributions as you want during either the Prototyping or Production Phase, and the targets may be reached with fewer than 100 Funders.

8. What does it mean to become a Founding Associate?

Founding Associate status/membership recognizes you as one of the 100 funders contributing to launch the S-MF FLOW Foil Project.

9. What does Founding Associate status/membership include?

It includes participation in the FLOW Launch Group, direct project and milestone updates, and first-production allocation. Associates may also request preferential consideration for prototype testing, demonstrations, and expert evaluation, and receive preferential consideration when applying for the future Sales Agent program. Optimo Foils does not guarantee selection and will base decisions on experience, location, project needs, and availability.

10. Can a Founding Associate cancel or transfer contributions?

Cancellation: Once we launch the Prototyping Phase, Initial Contributions become non-refundable. Once we launch the Production Phase, Production Contributions become non-refundable.

Transfer: A Founding Associate may transfer his participation and membership but must pay all contributions. The exiting Associate must submit a transfer application containing the receiver’s personal information and signature. The receiver must also sign the NDA. Once Optimo Foils approves the transfer, Founding Associate particiapation and membership will pass to the receiver, and the exiting Associate will leave the program. The two parties must arrange privately any reimbursement of contributions.

11. How does preferential consideration for testing or demonstrations work?

Founding Associates may request consideration for prototype testing, demonstrations, or expert evaluation. Optimo will select participants according to relevant foiling experience, location, project needs, and prototype availability. Preferential consideration means Associates will be considered before non-Associates. It does not guarantee selection or participation.

12. What is included in the S-MF FLOW Foil reward?

The S-MF FLOW Foil System (Gen 1) reward consists of the FLOW-WING1000, FLOW-FUS660, FLOW-RFUS200, FLOW-STAB250, MAST-AL75, MOUNT-TITAN, Inserts, and Attachment Hardware. The funder will pay for delivery freight separately.

13. How will S-MF FLOW be validated and manufactured?

The initial plan is to iterate prototype development and testing. Test results will inform design improvements. Then, we'll adapt the production design to the manufacturing processes to ensure its manufacturability.

14. What does the $200 Initial Contribution fund?

The $200 Initial Contribution is part of the $20,000 prototype development and validation budget. These funds will pay for prototype manufacturing and testing.

15. What does the $800 Production Contribution fund?

It launches the Production Phase. It pays for finalizing the design for manufacturing, operating costs, setting up manufacturing, tooling, and starting production.

16. What does the $650 Production Contribution fund?

It covers final payments to suppliers, operating expenses, and logistics costs.

17. What happens if prototype validation takes longer than estimated?

We'll delay the launch of the production phase. The prototyping phase is essential to validate the design. If it can't be validated, we may need to cancel the production launch and reformulate the plan.

18. What does the planned 50 + 50 batch structure mean?

We'll prioritize delivery for the first 50 Founding Associates. We may deliver the second 50 foils one to two months later, depending on supplier scheduling.

19. How will Associates be assigned to each batch?

We'll assign Associates to unit numbers as they make their Initial Contributions. First come, first served. The order in which Associates make their Production Contributions will not change the priority sequence.

20. Will you provide a more specific schedule for prototype validation, production order, supplier delivery, and final delivery?

Yes. We'll update the schedule as the project progresses and share current dates weekly in the FLOW Launch Group chat.

21. What warranty and return terms for the foil will apply?

We plan to provide warranty coverage for manufacturing defects. We won’t cover damage caused by use, but we may offer discounts on replacement components. We don’t plan to accept returns.

22. Is delivery freight included?

Delivery freight is not included.

23. How much will the shipping cost be?

We'll define the shipping cost for each location after knowing the final package weight, volume, and last-mile delivery cost.

24. What's the difference between the FLOW Launch Group and the Optimo Foils Discussion Group?

The FLOW Launch Group is private and exclusive to Founding Associates. It will include Associate topics, project status, and development. Participation will require signing an NDA to protect any Intellectual Property or sensitive information that may be disclosed. The Optimo Foils Discussion Group is open to anyone interested in general technical discussions about foil design and the foiling experience, but it will not include Optimo Foils’ proprietary information or FLOW-related information shared only with Founding Associates.

25. Can you define what the role of a Sales Agent is?

Optimo Foils Sales Agents will be experienced foilers selected to sell foils and represent the brand by helping riders enjoy their desired foiling experience.

26. How does the path to becoming a Sales Agent work, and what are the benefits?

By contributing to the FLOW foil launch, Founding Associates automatically receive preferential consideration for the future Sales Agent program. Those interested may use their participation to learn more before applying to become Sales Agents. Benefits will include earning commissions from sales and the satisfaction of helping others achieve their desired foiling experience.

27. What's the relationship between Optimo foils and TECHNAVIA LLC?

Optimo Foils is a sub-brand (DBA - Doing Business As) of TECHNAVIA LLC. All engineering and technical data belong to the TECHNAVIA technology portfolio, and Optimo Foils is an application of that technology.
